Pale and Interesting

12.05.2011

These muted & subtle shades from book Pale & Interesting by Atlanta Bartlett & David Coote just make me feel all cozy inside. Although I LOVE color something about decorating with whites and pastels with bits of color is the just the way I like to decorate with color. The book is devoted to the idea of keeping it simple and going back to the basics to create a home that is “calm, easy and unpretentious”…how nice! Why complicate things, right?

Key Take Aways:

1. I need a white Picnic Table
2. Birdcages are pretty cool (without the bird in it for me)
3. Every room needs some color
4. Celebrate the imperfect
5. Express your personality
6. Have a comfy armchair
7. Stay away from trends and pick timeless pieces
8. Explore uses of texture & form to add charm & interest
9. Reuse Repair, Recycle
10. Have fun decorating a personal & unique home
